Florida Native Plant Society’s native plant listing offers an excellent description and culture guide for each species.   

Florida Association of Native Nurseries directory listings of native nurseries in Florida with search by county or for a specific plant or plant type.  

Florida Wildflower Foundation has a fantastic collection of quick and easy-to-read brochures on selecting native wildflowers, growing wildflowers from seeds, and even creating a small pollinator oasis of wildflowers in pots.

The Institute for Systematic Botany, Atlas of Florida Plants provides the definitive source for native or naturalized plant profiles.

The Ixia Chapter of the Florida Native Plant Society provides this great brochure of alternatives to replace Northeast Florida invasive plants in your landscape. We include these booklets because of the an easy to digest presentation of valuable landscape design considerations. However, we also caution that plants listed as “Florida-Friendly” are not always native plants and do not necessarily provide the same ecological value to the landscape. Look here for more on why it matters and select Florida plants native to your ecological community as often as possible.
